When a patient comes in for the first time, one of the first questions they would ask is “Does it hurt?” Even though “needles” sound scary, acupuncture needles are not like injection needles. They are thin solid needles like a string of hair or a pine needle, and the surface is coated with silicone to reduce friction to minimize pain.
